Tax Manager

Position Purpose

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing multiple client tax returns and delivering high quality tax services for our clients.  This position will provide opportunity to work directly with individuals and business owners on tax related issues.  This position is responsible for various procedures that ensure timely, quality services and deadline completion.

Position Responsibilities

  • Interview clients, preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, businesses, non-profits, trusts and estates
  • Manage multiple client tax returns
  • Build new and cultivate existing client relationships
  • Review and evaluate staff work
  • In depth tax planning for clients
  • Tax Research

Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 4 years minimum public accounting experience, 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA certificate, or currently in progress toward obtaining required
  • Experience preparing/managing multiple individual and business tax returns
  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous experience with Tax Software programs, CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess preferred
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to details
  • Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written
  • Strong team work skills and the ability to follow directions
  • Proficiency and ability to keep within time budgets

Accountant | Full Charge Bookkeeper

Position Purpose

The Accountant/Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for processing client bookkeeping and payroll with precision and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Accountant/Full Charge Bookkeeper are:

  • Process client bookkeeping in a timely manner
  • Process client payroll and payroll tax deposits in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Analyze client data with the ability to communicate issues with clients and CPAs
  • Build new and cultivate existing client relationships
  • Other accounting projects as assigned
  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Willingness to assist with various projects during tax season

Skills and Education

The skills and education required for this position are:

  • 3-5 years prior Full Charge Bookkeeping and payroll experience, or Accounting Degree with 2+ years’ experience
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online, preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills
  • Deadline oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow directions

Seasonal Tax Preparer

Position Purpose

The Seasonal Tax Preparer is responsible for input of basic to intermediate complexity tax returns with precision and efficiency.  This position will provide opportunity to work as a liaison between clients and the responsible CPA.

Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Seasonal Tax Preparer, under the supervision of the Tax Managers, are:

  • Sort and prepare incoming tax work for scan process to assist in tax preparation
  • Input of scanned source documents to CCH tax software for basic to intermediate Individual Clients, provided by 6 CPAs
  • Self-review work for accuracy
  • Follow Silver Bridge processes for workflow, documenting & follow up of missing information
  • Communication with clients and CPAs regarding missing information
  • Communication with CPAs to update tax return status
  • Tax Research, if needed

 

Skills and Education

The skills and education required for this position are:

  • A minimum of 3 years tax preparation, CPA preferred
  • Previous experience with tax software, CCH ProSystem fx or Axcess experience, preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills
  • Deadline oriented and ability to multi-task
